We have six (6) initial scholarships of $1,000.00 each to give out this year. Three (3) will be for American Legion Post 8 family members. The other 3 will be put out to 11 high schools to compete for.
The requirements are the following for legion applicants:
- Deadline 30th of July each year.
- First year enrollment only.
- Have a family member in post 8 American Legion put their Legion ID# on the application.
- Write a narrative to the post about yourself and accomplishments to date. (Work experience, education, etc).
- An address to college admission with student id, a check could be mailed to if awarded.
High school applicants:
- Deadline 25th of July each year.
- First year enrollment only
- State high school, as it must be one of 11 that post 8 supports.
- Write a narrative to the post about yourself and accomplishments to date. (Work experience, education, etc)
- An address to college admission with student id, a check could be mailed to if awarded.
- A personal one-page resume with your goals, education aspects, hobbies, school attending with student id, etc.
